Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 October 2026

This policy explains how FX Capital (Pty) Ltd ("FX Capital", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects your information when you use the FX Capital trading journal at fxcjournal.com (the "Service"). We process personal information in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

1. Information we collect

Account details: your name, surname, email address and phone number, used to create your account and manage your free trial and membership.

Journal data you add: trades, notes, screenshots, strategies, trading plans, goals, deposits, withdrawals and backtests.

Connected trading accounts: if you connect an MT5 account, we import its trade history, balance, equity, deposits and withdrawals through our sync provider so your journal stays up to date. We never place, change or close trades.

Membership details: your Whop licence key and membership status, used to confirm your plan. Payments are handled by Whop; we never see or store your card details.

Technical data: basic usage and device information needed to run and secure the Service.

2. Google Calendar data

If you choose to connect Google Calendar, FX Capital asks for permission to create and manage calendar events (the calendar.events scope). We use this access only to:

  • add trading-session reminders (London, New York, Asian opens) to your calendar, and
  • add economic news events you choose to sync, and update or remove those same events.

We do not read, analyse or store the contents of your other calendar events. We store only the ID of each event FX Capital created so we can avoid duplicates and remove them if you ask.

FX Capital's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is never sold, never used for advertising, never used to train AI models, and never shared with anyone except as needed to provide this feature.

You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from your Profile page, or revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

3. How we use your information

  • To provide the journal, analytics, reports and the features of your plan.
  • To sync your connected trading accounts and calendar when you ask us to.
  • To verify your membership and prevent repeat free-trial abuse.
  • To send service emails such as monthly trading reports and account notices.
  • To keep the Service secure and fix problems.

4. Who can see your data

Your journal is private to you. Other members cannot see your accounts, trades or notes. If you are on a plan that offers mentor access, a mentor can only view your dashboard, read-only, after you grant access, and that access expires automatically after 12 hours.

We use trusted service providers to run the Service, including our hosting platform (Base44), our MT5 sync provider (MetaApi), Whop for memberships and Google for calendar sync. They process data only on our instructions. We do not sell your personal information.

5. Storage, security and retention

Your data is stored with our hosting provider and protected by access controls that limit each record to its owner. We keep your data while your account is active. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your journal data and calendar connection, except where the law requires us to keep records.

6. Your rights

You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, object to processing, or withdraw consent for a connected service at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

7. Contact us

For privacy questions or requests, email fxcapital.int@gmail.com or use our Contact page.
